Established in 1999, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) functions as a catalyst for economic development and diversification in the IT and knowledge-based sectors. The Innovation Centre, in conjunction with existing Algoma University & Sault College Gaming assets, is establishing an advanced technology demonstration research and development centre focusing specifically on the future of the Lottery and Gaming industry.

We are creating the future

Working with significant industry players in the community, this Centre for Next Generation Lottery & Gaming, unique to North America, will work with industry stakeholders - lottery operators; hardware and software developers; IT systems and infrastucture providers; government regulators and start-up companies to undertake jointly funded projects, product development and commercialization.
